Residential Holiday Lighting — Roofline, Eaves, Trees & Walkways

Seasonal Christmas light installation for Bay Area homes — professional-grade C9 and mini-bulb sets, GFCI-protected outdoor circuits, smart timer or app control, and takedown included in every package.

Seasonal Install by an Electrical Contractor

Holiday lights hung properly — not with extension cords through a window screen.

Most seasonal installers run extension cords through screen doors and disappear in January. YKCA does residential holiday lighting as part of our standard electrical practice — same insured C-10 crew, same GFCI-protected outdoor circuits, same smart-controller wiring we use for any exterior project. If your exterior outlets are not where you need them, we add them under our license.

We offer three scope levels so you pay for what your home actually needs: Roofline Only covers the eave and fascia lines; Full Exterior adds ground-level accents and entryway elements; Premium extends to landscape trees and lighted walkway paths. All three use professional-grade C9 or mini-bulb sets rated for outdoor commercial use.

Smart controllers with timer or phone-app control are standard on every install. Takedown in January and careful labeling of strings in labeled bins are included — so reinstall next season is faster and the lights last longer.

Part of our holiday lighting service — same insured C-10 crew, GFCI-protected outdoor circuits, $200 service call credited to the job.

What's Included

Residential Packages, end to end.

Every residential package covers design, installation, GFCI circuitry, smart control, and January takedown.

Professional-Grade Bulbs

C9 and mini-bulb sets designed for outdoor commercial use — rated for Bay Area winters and built to last multiple seasons.

GFCI-Protected Circuits

All strings run on GFCI-protected outdoor circuits. We add exterior outlets under our C-10 license if existing locations don't align with your design.

Smart Controller Setup

Timer or phone-app controller installed and programmed before we leave — set schedules or switch scenes without going outside.

Roofline, Trees & Walkways

Eaves, fascia, peaks, landscape trees, and lighted walkway paths all in scope depending on package level selected.

Takedown & Labeled Storage

January takedown is included. Strings are labeled and bagged in labeled bins — faster reinstall next year, lights in better condition.

How It Works

From design walk to next-season reinstall.

Every holiday lighting project — seasonal or permanent — runs the same electrician-led, accountable workflow.

1

On-Site Design Walk

We walk the property, plan what to light, check exterior circuits, and confirm access and lift needs. The $200 service-call fee is credited to the job.

2

Custom Layout & Fixed Quote

A measured layout, color and brightness plan, and a fixed written quote — including any GFCI circuit work needed, added under our C-10 license.

3

Professional Install

Our insured W-2 crew installs to code on GFCI-protected circuits, programs the smart controller, and cleans up — no extension cords through a window screen.

4

Takedown, Storage & Reinstall

January takedown is included; strings are labeled and bagged for a faster, cheaper reinstall next season. Permanent LED systems stay up year-round.

Why YKCA for Holiday Lighting

Holiday lights installed by a licensed electrical contractor.

Most holiday installers are seasonal crews that run extension cords and disappear in February. YKCA does holiday lighting year-round as part of a standard C-10 electrical practice.

Licensed C-10 Contractor

Not a pop-up seasonal crew. Permitted, code-compliant exterior wiring under CSLB C-10 — verifiable on cslb.ca.gov.

100% W-2 & Insured Lift

Direct employees, insured for multi-story lift work — no day-labor, no liability gaps on your roof.

GFCI-Protected Circuits

Every string runs on a code-compliant, weather-sealed GFCI outdoor circuit — we add outlets under our license where needed.

Takedown & Storage Included

January takedown, labeled bins, and faster reinstall next year — included in the seasonal package, not an add-on surprise.

Smart-Controller Programming

Timer or phone-app control programmed before we leave — schedules and scenes ready to use without going outside.

One Accountable Contractor

One crew, one quote, one warranty — from the design walk through install and takedown. No subcontractor hand-offs.

FAQ

Residential Packages questions, straight answers.

Book by October for a guaranteed November install window. November is our peak season and windows narrow quickly. December installs are available but not guaranteed — the earlier you book, the more scheduling flexibility we have.

Both options work. We recommend our standard professional-grade outdoor C9 and mini-bulb sets, which are designed for commercial outdoor use and hold up for multiple seasons. If you have lights you want us to hang, we confirm they are outdoor-rated and that the wattage works with our smart controllers.

Takedown is included in our standard seasonal install package. We come out in January, take everything down carefully, label the strings, and bag them in labeled bins. Facility storage is available as an add-on if you prefer not to keep the bins yourself.

We add them under our C-10 license. If your existing outdoor outlets are not where the design calls for them, we quote the circuit work as part of the overall project — one contractor, one invoice.

Yes. A seasonal install and a permanent Trimlight or Jellyfish system serve different needs. After a season or two, if you decide you want to eliminate the annual hang entirely, we assess your roofline for a permanent track and credit your relationship with us on the new quote.
