1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging YKCA Electric for any electrical services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all services provided by YKCA Electric, including but not limited to residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work, EV charging installation, smart home systems, AV & stage integration, and holiday lighting services.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please contact us before scheduling service so we can address your concerns.

2. Services

YKCA Electric provides licensed electrical contracting services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. All work is performed in strict compliance with the California Electrical Code (CEC), the National Electrical Code (NEC), and all applicable local building codes and regulations.

Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Electrical panel upgrades and service changes
  • EV charging station installation
  • Smart home automation and low-voltage systems
  • Audio/visual and stage power integration
  • Holiday and permanent LED lighting installation
  • Emergency electrical services

All electrical work is performed by qualified electricians under the supervision of a licensed C-10 electrical contractor.

3. Estimates and Pricing

All estimates provided by YKCA Electric are based on the information available at the time of assessment and are valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issuance unless otherwise stated in writing.

Please be aware that:

  • Final pricing may vary from the original estimate based on unforeseen conditions discovered during the course of work, including but not limited to hidden damage, code violations in existing wiring, or structural obstacles.
  • Any additional work or changes to the original scope must be approved by the customer before proceeding. We will provide a revised estimate for your approval.
  • Material costs are subject to change based on market conditions. If material prices change significantly between the estimate date and the start of work, we will notify you promptly.
  • Permit fees, if required, are not included in the estimate unless explicitly stated.

4. Scheduling and Cancellation

We make every effort to accommodate your preferred scheduling. However, appointment times may be subject to change due to prior job overruns, emergency calls, or weather conditions. We will notify you as soon as possible if any schedule changes occur.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Cancellations made at least twenty-four (24) hours before the scheduled appointment will not incur any charges.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover reserved labor and scheduling costs.
  • No-shows without prior notice will be charged a trip fee.
  • For large-scale projects with materials already ordered or permits already pulled, additional cancellation terms may apply as outlined in your project agreement.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of the work unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed upon in writing prior to commencement of the project.

For larger projects, the following payment structure may apply:

  • A deposit may be required before materials are ordered or work begins.
  • Progress payments may be scheduled at agreed-upon milestones for extended projects.
  • Final payment is due upon satisfactory completion and customer sign-off.

Accepted payment methods include check, credit card, debit card, and electronic bank transfer. A service charge may apply to past-due balances. YKCA Electric reserves the right to suspend work on any project with outstanding past-due payments.

6. Warranty

YKCA Electric stands behind the quality of our work and offers the following warranty coverage:

  • Workmanship Warranty: All labor and installation work performed by YKCA Electric is covered by a one (1) year workmanship warranty from the date of completion. If any defect in our workmanship is discovered during this period, we will correct it at no additional charge.
  • Materials Warranty: All materials and equipment installed by YKCA Electric carry the manufacturer's warranty. We will assist you with any manufacturer warranty claims for products we have installed.

The workmanship warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorized modification of the installed work
  • Damage resulting from power surges, lightning strikes, floods, or other acts of nature
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Issues arising from pre-existing conditions not identified during the initial assessment

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, YKCA Electric's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

YKCA Electric shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or property damage beyond the scope of work, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.

Nothing in these terms shall limit liability for personal injury or death caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

8. Licensing and Insurance

YKCA Electric is a fully licensed and insured electrical contractor in the State of California:

  • License: California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) C-10 Electrical Contractor License
  • You may verify our license status at www.cslb.ca.gov
  • We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage as required by California law.

9. Property Access and Site Conditions

The customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the work area. This includes:

  • Clearing the work area of personal belongings and obstructions prior to our arrival
  • Ensuring that pets are secured away from the work area
  • Informing us of any known hazards, including the presence of asbestos, lead paint, or other hazardous materials
  • Providing access to electrical panels, attics, crawl spaces, and other areas necessary to complete the work

YKCA Electric is not responsible for pre-existing conditions, including but not limited to outdated wiring, code violations, or structural deficiencies not caused by our work.

10. Permits and Inspections

Certain electrical work requires permits and inspections by local building authorities. YKCA Electric will advise you when permits are needed and can obtain them on your behalf. The cost of permits is the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

The customer agrees to make the property available for any required inspections. Delays caused by failed inspections due to pre-existing conditions or customer modifications are not the responsibility of YKCA Electric.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the services provided by YKCA Electric shall be resolved in the courts of San Mateo County, California.

12. Changes to These Terms

YKCA Electric reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
